Since 2014, Fashion Scout has presented its Ones to Watch award, designed to raise the profile of emerging design and promote innovative talents on a global scale. This season three exciting labels – Aucarre, Nous Etudions and Price on Request – have been named as the winners of this fashion forward prize, meaning that they get to present a show during London Fashion Week and reach a whole new audience of fans. This season we are 100% excited by the choices, not just because of the designs but the ethos of the labels and the drive they have to create social change through fashion.
Feminine power is the foundation of the Aucarre ethos, which was set up by twin designers with Greek origins. A contemporary aesthetic is punctuated by luxe details and the designers’ obsession with hand drawn digital print and knit permeates the looks. Techno fabrics and 3D knits are combined with hand drawn details, fusing the traditional and delicate with the futuristic and tech focused. Storytelling is a big theme with this brand – their outfits were selected for the “Madam Butterfly” installation at Royal Albert Hall. We love the vision of Aucarre and can’t wait to see the catwalk show.
Designer Romi Cardillo created Nous Etudions in 2014, bringing together opposing forces, such as traditional tailoring and oversize silhouettes. Minimalism is strong in this brand, a constant theme, and innovation has been the wave on which Nous Etudions has surfed into the Ones to Watch line up. We are 100% into the non-gender, vegan qualities of this label, the first vegan Brand in Argentina, and the bold styling and confronting colour palettes make the aesthetic inspiring and eclectic. Definitely one to watch – for SS19 and beyond.
Price on Request
Croatian label Price on Request was awarded the 2017 ELLE Style Award Croatia and the Fashion Scout South East Europe 2018 Award, establishing significant profile since its launch in 2016. This independent, multi gender brand crafts looks for the courageous and the bold with oversize silhouettes and lots of reflective details. The label has also pioneered a new approach to pricing – the pieces increase in price along with demand so customers have a say in the costing, as well as defining the value of the brand.
The Ones to Watch show is on the schedule for Sunday 16thSeptember at 12.30.
