Delicate, emotive pieces from New Delhi based Designer Sidharth Sinha, once again graced the catwalk of London Fashion Scout this season for the SS18 collection from N & S Gaia. As a label with a passionate devotion to ethics and Mother Nature (the name N & S Gaia draws on nature, sustainability, and the Greek meaning of ‘earth’) this is fashion that feels very kind and caring.
Channelling a childlike innocence and curiosity, gently exploring new shapes and ideas, this collection was fresh with sorbet colours, and splashes of watercolour prints. With a subtle nod to the 1920’s era, this collection felt like Great Gatsby in an ice cream parlour.
We saw soft blurred lines, loose draped silks, sheer chiffons, sweeping hems, and flirty frills adding flavour. Continuing his commitment to using the almost long forgotten technique of Dakmanda, a traditional hand woven embroidery of the Garo tribe in North East India, Sinha punctuated the fragility of his dresses and loose legged pants with this stunning detail, which is fast becoming his signature.
This show summed up summer as it should be, and, with every piece so wonderfully wearable, Sinha has created a collection which is completely and utterly covetable.
