Show report: Barrus Fashion Scout AW16 London Fashion Week
Barrus’ AW16 collection invited a glimpse of the designers’ Turkish heritage, weaving ancient stories into contemporary fashion tales, combining traditional patterns and modern silhouettes (see the maxi skirted jumpsuits). Kate Bush provided some soundtrack to the ultra feminine presentation, as models floated in on ethereal but earthy shades of green, blue and pink, balanced by a series of monochrome or blood red gowns. Silhouettes hugged hips or dropped straight to the floor, and there were crops aplenty. Elegance reigned supreme throughout the collection, from the floor sweeping gowns, to the tailored trousers and the finale dress - a white mini adorned with striking feathered hem, sheer at the thigh.
