Show report: Judy Wu Fashion Scout AW16, London Fashion Week
JUDY WU’S AW 16 show blended aspects of feminism and modern couture, from dominatrix straps to flawless tailoring and silhouettes inspired by female pioneers. Uncomplicated yet exuberant, the sophisticated collection was a beautiful mottle of texture and fierce, in warm autumnal colours. Linen, PVC and sheers complimented shades of khaki green and brown. Belted dresses and asymmetrical hemlines featured along side boxy jackets with uneven hems and oversized coats with military-esque zips and buckles. The stand out piece was a one shouldered, floor length gown that introduced a shade of juicy orange, creating a dramatic contrast to the otherwise khaki and black palette. A svelte collection from one of our favourite emerging designers.
