Show report: Prophetik Fashion Scout AW16, London Fashion Week
The PROPHETIK AW16 collection, “Ruins and Renaissance,” was earthy and elegant, introduced by a moment of pure Lady Godiva drama as a model arrived outside Freemasons Hall on a horse. Jeff Garner, is known for his ethical designs - the neutral palette was created using natural dyes and fabrics were sustainable. Hemp, wool, lace and reclaimed leather featured across the feminine yet structured garments, which had a medieval frisson. Chunky knits, jodhpurs and strapless gowns with flowing skirts made for dramatic silhouettes. Textures clashed perfectly with the colours - accents of blue, green and brown - and a full length white dress with parasol, sheer arms and flowing skirt made us long for the days when fashion was all about simple feminine grace (and making an entrance).
