Rohmir SS18 London Fashion Week
'Sparkling', the SS18 collection from Rhomir show at Fashion Scout this season, was a bit of a dazzler. Well established as a designer of ready to wear luxury, Rhomir this season was true to form with effortlessly beautiful womenswear which made us feel as though a particularly magical moment was taking place on the catwalk.
Rhomir so often takes her inspiration from romantic places and classical history, and this season was no exception. Her influence for this collection was: Italy. Why? Because she feels that is where the very essence of femininity is centred.
With a palette spanning a spectrum of blues, infused with silver and greys, the collection danced with delicate fluid shapes, a subtle playfulness and high octane elegance. Florals, frills, hemlines which were full length or demure, and intricate detailing, all gave us a gorgeously calm celebration of womanhood.
Rhomir's signature style is steeped in reference to, and reflections of, fashions from the past. With 'Sparkling' we saw a distinct salute to shapes from both the 30's and the 50's, with flutter sleeves, bias cuts, and the much adored nipped in waist from the New Look era.
Timeless - and yet totally up to date - Rhomir's pieces are ones you can wear time and time again. With a live opera singer adding her voice to an upbeat club track, this catwalk show seemed to whisk us away to a glittery and ladylike land. Everything about this show sang la dolce vita.
