Swedish School of Textiles SS18 London Fashion Week
We are big fans of Scandinavian talents here at The Glass Pineapple. And we’re also a big fan of student and graduate fashion designers – as you might have noticed from our Graduate Fashion Week coverage.
So, the Swedish School of Textiles show – particularly given its always-innovative approach to aesthetics and messaging – is a big deal for us. This season we feel head over heels for Jennifer Larsson’s creations – the tangy lemon yellow kimono slash duvet dress, the knots casually slung at the abdomen and the oh so delicate polka dots.
We first saw Sofie Antonsson’s innovative Plastic Fantastic pieces at Copenhagen Fashion Week and we loved the statement modern elegance of the designs by Tove Berner Wik, from the layered, lettered maxi dress, to the cool catsuit and the head to toe gold.
Louise Linderoth’s collection Have a Seat dressed models in wheelchairs to explore an alternative fashion perspective and Jonas Hedstrom’s Dress was an inspired look at the concept of creating one pieces for men.
Innovative, creative, inspiring and outrageous the Swedish School of Textiles gave us a lot to love.
