London played host to one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies on the fashion calendar on Monday of this week, rolling out the red carpet to a full complement of A-listers and fashion royalty. The British Fashion Awards is one of our favourite events on the annual style calendar as it celebrates emerging, as well as established, designers from within one of the world's most innovative industries.

The categories represent a wide range of accolades, praising the work of original and inspirational design. Awards include recognition for emerging and established talents, international influencers and designers who have provided an unrivalled contribution to the fashion world. Fashion brands are also acknowledged for their influence in the industry with awards given for the leading British brand and props going to the most innovative advertising or editorial campaign.

Of course the dresses are one of the reasons we're all glued to the internet after the awards and some of these fabulous frocks were even visible from the nosebleed stalls where we were sitting (well, the Upper Circle). Notable was X-factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini wearing a sheer Topshop outfit and Queen B Victoria Beckham in a sleek tuxedo, accessorised by a matching husband. Lady Gaga's Tom Ford dress was a tribute to the man whose Red Carpet award she accepted on his behalf. We also loved Alexa Chung in Erdem and Gwendoline Christie who was resplendent in strapless sequins created by her partner Giles Deacon.

Some of our personal highlights included Anna Wintour's humorous speech introducing Karl Lagerfeld in which she confessed he had once built a badminton court especially for her, and the absolute shock with which JW Anderson won not one but two designer of the year awards (for both men's and womenswear) - as well as announcing he had always had a crush on Orlando Bloom. Who was presenting him with the award.

So here are the winners in full. In the not too distant future we hope to see some of our own designers featuring on this list - we're a springboard for new fashion talent looking to get into the industry. Get in touch with us for more info.
